Commission approves immunization task order amid reduced state allocation

Commission staff and counsel presented two immunization agreements: one carrying a retroactive date to 07/01/2024 to close out the prior term and another to take effect July 1 for the new year. A county legal participant who helped draft the agreement described quarterly payment schedules and said the state task order amounts have been reduced for the coming fiscal year.
A county representative explained that the funds flowing through the task order support immunization services administratively and that the hospital or public-health department would handle vaccine purchases. "The money that we're getting through this program to support it doesn't help buy immunizations," the county drafter said; "this is just more to support the efforts around making sure we're getting immunization services provided to our county." Commissioners voted to approve the master immunization contract and the task order, and staff said they will supply budget detail and follow up with any questions.
