Committee recommends 2026 county holiday schedule to full board

The DeWitt County Finance Committee reviewed a proposed 2026 holiday schedule and on Nov. 17 voted to recommend adoption by the full county board (motion by Claro Carter; second by Terry Ferguson; voice vote carried). The printed schedule in the packet lists the standard federal and observed holidays, including Jan. 1 (New Year's Day), Jan. 19 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), May 25 (Memorial Day), June 19 (Juneteenth), July 3 (observed Independence Day), Nov. 11 (Veterans Day), Nov. 26–27 (Thanksgiving and the day after) and Dec. 25 (Christmas Day).
The committee's recommendation will be forwarded to the full county board for final adoption as part of FY26 administrative planning.
