City will remove dilapidated play structure; council explores replacement options and grants
The council agreed to remove an east-side park wooden play structure within about two weeks and asked staff and Councilmember Griggs to pursue replacement options, including contacting playground vendors and potential grant funding.

Council members discussed the dilapidated wooden play structure on the east side of City Park and directed its removal; Operations Director Doug Hembry said it "would be removed in the next 2 weeks." Griggs reported he has contacted playground companies about new or used equipment and said he will bring information and possible grant options for purchasing and installing replacement play equipment to the next meeting.
