Georgetown-Ridge Farm board adjourns to closed session citing Illinois Open Meetings Act

The Board of Education of the Georgetown-Ridge Farm Community Unit District #4 moved into a closed meeting on March 6, 2025, to discuss personnel matters under the Illinois Open Meetings Act. President Kevin Latoz called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. at the Superintendent’s Office, 502 Mulberry Street in Georgetown, and the minutes record the planned adjournment to a closed session "for Personnel Pursuant to IL Open Meetings Act: 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1): The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the district to determine its validity."

The roll call listed Sandi Doggett, Lisa Coburn, Carla Pollman, Greg Emmert, Kevin Latoz and Mike Gragert as present, and the minutes state, "Let the records show that a quorum is present." A procedural motion to adjourn to closed session was carried; the public record notes "Ayes: All in favor Nayes: None Motion Carried."
