Council adopts first 2026 budget amendment, funds reader boards and adjusts reserves

Finance Director Kristen Reed presented the first 2026 budget amendment (Ordinance 2841) and explained small changes made since the first reading. "We added an additional $35,000 for two digital reader boards, that'll be paid for out of the street fund," Reed said, and noted the amendment moves amounts to reconcile estimated and actual beginning fund balances.
Reed also alerted council that the amendment brings the Facilities Fund (Fund 35) below the city's reserve policy; committee members signaled support and the council approved the ordinance on second reading by voice vote.
