Justin Bland, Director of Solid Waste, presented the 2025 Central Kansas Regional Solid Waste Authority Management Plan update and told the board it had been approved by the Authority with several county-portion changes tied to the C&D expansion. Bland recommended the county adopt the update and the commission did so unanimously.
The agenda attachments included program details and noted that Harvey County’s C&D landfill had approximately seven years of capacity under current permitting and that the county is pursuing a middle-cell expansion permitting process to extend life. Bland said the change in the county portion related mainly to the C&D expansion specifications.
