County updates facilities projects; planner Alan Thomson announces retirement

Facilities Director Brandy Dean and Superintendent Adam Turnidge briefed the board on several projects: Hopkins parking lot renovation is complete; the Courthouse north parking lot awaits paving after underground storage tank removal; Colfax Health Department painting began June 24 and the project is scheduled to finish July 31, 2026; Pullman Health Department flood repairs are pending HVAC documents from Reliant Engineering; and the Pullman District Court remodel is progressing with sheetrock and upcoming mud/taping work.
Public Works Director Mark Storey read a retirement letter from County Planner Alan Thomson announcing his retirement effective Aug. 31, 2026 and expressing appreciation for his 24 years of service. County Engineer Dean Cornelison reported Hume Road is closed and additional signage has been requested.
