Pickens County commissioners voted to let staff issue an RFP to evaluate using a construction-manager-at-risk (CMAR) approach on three major SPLOST projects — Roper Park (including an aquatic center), a public safety complex and the tax commissioner building — with any selection returning to the board for public approval.

The Pickens County Board of Commissioners voted to authorize the chairman to begin a request-for-proposal process to evaluate a construction-manager-at-risk approach for major projects funded by the special-purpose local-option sales tax (SPLOST). Chair opened the item and turned the presentation over to Bill Wood, the county's director of external operations.
