Board sets July 2 work session and notes OSBA conference dates

The board scheduled a special work session for July 2 at 6 p.m. (Council Chambers, Public Safety and Schools Building) followed by a regular business meeting at 7 p.m. on the same day. Chair Kris Howatt also reviewed the Oregon School Boards Association Summer Board Conference, set for Aug. 8–10, 2025 in Salem, and asked members who wish to attend to notify the board secretary for registration.
John Koch recommended postponing discussion of the Gresham Civic/Downtown Urban Renewal Plan to the July 2 meeting to allow comprehensive board input and suggested the district prepare draft materials for the board’s review. The board discussed possibly adding a 6:00 p.m. work session ahead of the July 2 business meeting to swear in new board members if needed.
