The Gresham-Barlow board on June 4 approved a three-year subscription to the K–8 Wayfinder social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum with a not-to-exceed cost of $430,000.
Carla Gay presented the item at second reading and the motion to approve the purchase (MOTION 108, moved by Mayra Gómez and seconded by David Ligatich) carried 6–0. Interim Superintendent John Koch and incoming superintendent Dr. Tracy Klinger noted the state has added SEL standards and the district will use Student Investment Account (SIA) funds to support the curriculum purchase. The board discussed funding trade-offs and confirmed the decision will be supported by SIA dollars.
