Committee outlines stakeholder interview panels and a process for collecting feedback

Committee members sketched the makeup of interview panels and how panel feedback will be collected and used. The Chair listed the leadership team (building administrators and directors), certified staff, classified staff, students and the board as the core groups; committee members discussed whether and when a community panel should be involved and agreed community participation is likely at the finalist stage rather than the initial panels.

The group directed HR to publish an interest form so staff, students and community members can indicate availability to serve; members discussed selection mechanics—random selection within role categories or quotas to ensure representation—and asked HR to present options at a work session before panels are finalized. "If you have 50 people who want to be on the interview committee, are you randomly selecting?" the Chair asked, and members discussed a mix of representation plus random selection to maintain equity.

The committee will convene a work session (proposed before the March 17 board meeting) to invite union and leadership representatives and finalize how panelists will be chosen and scored.
