Madrid board appoints Rita Gerenser as CEO; some members raise process concerns

During the planning board portion of the meeting, David Fisher moved and Emily Losey seconded a motion to appoint Rita Gerenser to the CEO position for the remainder of the year; the motion carried. Kevin Finnegan asked whether the other applicants had been interviewed and said he believed the appointment should have been handled differently; Chair Tony Cooper said he would call the other applicants to inform them that the position had been filled.
