County reallocates juvenile probation funds for evaluations, counseling and GPS monitors

Comal County approved a line-item transfer in juvenile probation to shift funds from residential services to nonresidential services to pay for court-ordered psychological evaluations, counseling and GPS monitoring. Juvenile probation staff said they had seen a recent surge in invoices and requested the transfer to cover increasing costs.
Juvenile probation staff explained: "We've seen, an uptick, a surge in in, spend and invoices for, court ordered psychological evaluations, for therapies that, our clients are ordered to, and also for electronic monitoring with the GPS system." Commissioner Hogg moved to approve the request; Commissioner Leacock seconded and the motion carried.
