During public comments earlier in the meeting, Diana Daniels of Springfield Township urged the board to watch what other counties are doing to 'keep data centers away' and referenced HB 126, which she said is progressing and would indemnify data centers; the comment was raised as local concern and received no formal county response during the meeting.
The board set no final hearing date for the zoning text amendment in this meeting; initiating the amendment starts the formal county process and will require subsequent hearings and staff work to draft ordinance language.
