The Village of Manhattan board approved an ordinance amending sections of the municipal code related to the emergency management agency to match the village's restructured practice.
Mayor Mike Adrianson said the change reflects that the chief of police will continue serving as director of emergency services and will assume duties and responsibilities established by ordinance. "So due to the restructuring... the ordinance needs to be updated to reflect current practices," Adrianson said. The ordinance passed on a roll call vote.
