Health Officer Jayme Sopha told the board the department’s vaccine cooler died at the end of May, creating an immediate need for replacement. She said the county solicited quotes, found prices had roughly doubled since the prior purchase, but secured a vendor special that reduced the final total by nearly 40 percent; the purchase will be covered by emergency preparedness and federal immunization grants, producing no impact to the county tax levy.
