PGCPS says new CMMS and maintenance coordinator will help fix data gaps

Director Stefanelli said the district completed an initial CMMS implementation in July and has created a dedicated preventive maintenance coordinator position to build a catalog of assets and auto‑populate preventive work orders.
"Our biggest issue is not about not doing preventative maintenance. It was about not capturing it in our work order system," Director Stefanelli said, explaining why the IAC flagged the district and why the remedy focuses on data and workflows. The district also reported a reduction in identified deficiencies from 310 to 65 between FY 2021 and FY 2024, a change staff attributed to better rubric comprehension and tighter remediation procedures.
The committee pressed for concrete timelines and documentation. Staff said the IAC gives a 15‑day window to develop remediation plans and 45 days to remediate once a plan is submitted; the district described reorganizing teams to meet those windows and raising scores by meeting remediation timelines. Members requested follow‑up materials on the CMMS implementation status, the preventive maintenance coordinator’s scope, and examples of remediated items to verify progress.
