Board members and residents raised crash and congestion concerns at Mira Loma/McCarran and Rio Poco, urged more speed enforcement and signal work; RTC said signal-system upgrades, intelligent-transportation systems and corridor projects are planned and will return with detailed neighborhood-level plans.

Multiple Ward 3 board members and residents told RTC and RPD they are worried about safety at Mira Loma/McCarran, Rio Poco and Wells Avenue. Marie Rodriguez and other board members described long backups and near-misses in the afternoons and called for signal synchronization, turn arrows and speed control measures. "Ever since Veterans Parkway opened, that's been, a really, frankly, dangerous intersection," Rodriguez said, noting school drop-off and shopping-center traffic exacerbate conflicts.
