A drafter previewed amendments to a joint interlocal agreement that clarify administrative roles and add language stating the territory would defend and indemnify a participating unit if that unit is named in a claim arising from fire-department activities.

A staff member who said they prepared an amended approval agreement previewed changes to the interlocal draft and said the new language updates tense, clarifies administration and adds indemnity language. "If either unit gets named in an action resulting from some claim against the fire department, the territory is going to defend and indemnify that unit," the staff member said while reviewing the draft.
