Member to propose coroner-to‑medical examiner study at county board
A committee member said they plan to bring forward a request to the DuPage County Board to study moving from an elected coroner to a medical examiner system and will seek signatures to place it on the next board agenda.

A member told the Judicial & Public Safety Committee they had previously asked about the question of moving from a coroner system to a medical examiner and intend to put the issue on the county board agenda. The member said they will ask the chair to place it on the next county board meeting agenda and will seek six signatures to secure the item for consideration.
