Ottawa County Conservation District asks for $25,000; says state will double county contribution
The Ottawa County Conservation District requested $25,000 for 2026 — the same as 2025 — and reported the State of Kansas approved doubling the county contribution so the county amount would generate $50,000 from the state.

Tyrel Owens, chairman of the Ottawa County Conservation District board, presented the district’s 2026 appropriation request along with board members Brody Buzzard, Levi Ebert and Doug Plummer. The district asked the county for $25,000 — unchanged from 2025 — and reported that the State of Kansas approved a doubling of county contributions so the requested $25,000 would now leverage $50,000 in state funds.
