Town Forest wins $4,000 UMATR grant; RTP application submitted for bridge and trail work

Commission members were informed that the Town/MCC received a $4,000 UMATR grant to pay for the engineered design of a bridge to be built over the brook in the Town Forest; Matt has been in contact with the engineer who will complete the design. The commission recorded that Matt was unable to attend the meeting and further discussion was tabled until April.
Separately, the full Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant application was submitted on February 1, 2026 and requested funding for bridge construction, trail work, a parking area, signage and benches. The commission said award notifications are expected sometime during March 2026.
