Senate adopts conforming HHS amendment, bars CMS redesignation before 2027

Senator Warmie (Story) introduced the HHS department bill and explained conforming amendment 51-39 aligns district reviews with the Census schedule (every 10 years rather than 7) and requires HHS to report to the General Assembly by December 15, 2026 on collaborative work, fiscal impacts, and alternatives to redesignation. The amendment also bars the department from submitting a CMS redesignation application prior to January 1, 2027.
