Subcommittee drafting objective design standards; full draft expected before public review

Kevin updated the commission on the objective design standards subcommittee, noting commissioners Ortiz and Jijodia, staff, and consultants at Good City Company are preparing a draft. Partial materials have been shared with staff; once staff and consultants complete a comprehensive draft it will go first to the subcommittee for internal review and then to the full commission and public.

Commissioners asked whether the body is a subcommittee and pressed on timing; Kevin said June might be optimistic and the commission will likely see the draft after additional review rounds. The scope was described as objective design standards for one- to four-unit residential buildings and updates to existing objective standards for multifamily, mixed-use, and ADUs where needed; the subcommittee will coordinate with public outreach once the draft is ready.
