District highlights TAPP expansion, integrated plan approval and Native American equity work
Pendleton officials reported that Tribal Attendance Promising Practices (TAPP) expanded to Sunridge Middle School and that the district's Integrated Plan for 2023–24 (approved by ODE) is guiding services; staff also presented the Native American Equity Report and the 'Walk to Language' Umatilla language lessons.

District staff and CTUIR partners reported multiple program updates aimed at supporting Native American students and attendance. Director Matt Yoshioka said TAPP expanded from Washington Elementary to Sunridge Middle School and that the Oregon Department of Education considers Pendleton a state model for use of the TAPP grant. CTUIR Education Director Jaimie Crane praised Ray Fox, the new TAPP family advocate at Sunridge Middle School, as a positive influence for students.
