During the training, facilitators and the board debated shifting from separate board and superintendent goals to a shared goals model intended to align actions across leadership. Mike Scott described the shared-goal visual as a three-legged stool — shared goals as the seat and three action legs — and said joint actions by board and superintendent would improve clarity and monitoring.
