Pitman Police officer recognized; FTO update training scheduled

Councilman Uyehara reported the Pitman Police Department will hold an eight-hour Field Training Officer (FTO) update on Jan. 31 for a list of officers, hosted by Walsh Public Safety Consulting at PPD headquarters. He relayed Chief McAteer’s commendation of PO/SRO Peter Stefanopoulos, saying the chief offered "a few positive comments on his performance" and thanking Stefanopoulos for his work.
Uyehara and Mayor Razze also reminded motorists to exercise caution during winter weather after the department responded to several weather-related crashes caused by aggressive driving and close following. The council encouraged residents to avoid excessive speed and to remain alert for snow- and ice-related hazards.
