Spearman ISD authorizes superintendent hires and approves multiple educator contracts
Board granted the superintendent authority to hire certified staff through July and approved several 10-month probationary and specialized contracts, including a non-Chapter 21 contract for a speech-language pathologist.

After returning from closed session, the Spearman ISD Board reconvened and granted Superintendent James Layman authority to hire certified professional employees during May, June, and July; the motion passed 7-0. The authority allows the superintendent to complete necessary hires before the next regular board meeting to ensure staffing for the 2025–26 school year.
