Council advances pension-board and fire & police commission code changes for second reading
On March 24 the Council advanced two consent ordinances on first reading: an amendment exempting pension-board trustees from term limits and changes to the powers and rules of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. Both items moved forward on a unanimous procedural vote.

Council considered two consent ordinances on first reading. One ordinance would amend Section 2-662 of the City Code to exempt members of the Board of Trustees of the City’s Pension Fund from term limitations; a second ordinance would amend the City Code regarding the powers and rules of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
