Council considered two consent ordinances on first reading. One ordinance would amend Section 2-662 of the City Code to exempt members of the Board of Trustees of the City’s Pension Fund from term limitations; a second ordinance would amend the City Code regarding the powers and rules of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
Mayor Sanoica read the titles into the record and the Council took a procedural motion to consider the remaining consent ordinances together after Alderperson O’Brien pulled item B. The roll call vote to advance the ordinances for second reading was unanimous among those present (6–0). No substantive debate or public opposition was recorded on these two items at the March 24 meeting.
