Granite County will continue its customary allocation of Secure Rural Schools funds — 85% Title I, 8% Title II (RAC), 7% Title III — after discussion about Title II (RAC) reorganization and the tradeoffs of taking all funds under Title I.

County staff reviewed options for allocating Federal Forest Reserve / Secure Rural Schools (SRS) funds for fiscal year 2026-2027. The customary split—85% Title I, 8% Title II, and 7% Title III—was discussed alongside the option of taking 100% under Title I, which would forgo Title II/RAC and Title III opportunities.
