Maybrook board adopts $200 fee for non-functioning water meters
After a public hearing with no public comment, the Village of Maybrook Board of Trustees adopted a $200 fee to apply to residents without a functioning water meter who refuse repairs, amending the village fee schedule. Vote: 4-0.

Mayor Dennis Leahy opened a public hearing on a proposed fee for non-functioning water meters and turned the floor to Attorney Liz Cassidy, who reviewed the ordinance background and application. Cassidy told the board the fee would apply to residents who do not have a water meter or who have a broken meter and refuse to fix it. "The fee of $200.00 will be applied only to residents that don’t have a water meter or a broken one after time refuse to get it fixed," Cassidy said.
