Commissioners on Oct. 7 authorized several public-works bids and awarded multiple small construction contracts aimed at road repairs, a fishing dock and county facilities.
The board voted to put paving work for Riverbend Road and Liberty Hill Road out to bid. Commissioners also approved the lone bid for the Riverbend fishing dock from Wahoo Dock. The 215 McNaughton Street storage building project was approved, with Chattahoochee Concrete awarded the slab and North Carolina Carports awarded the building. Commissioners approved the lower bid from Chattahoochee Concrete for refurbishment of the portion of City Hall not covered in the prior remodel. All motions passed unanimously.
Why it matters: the actions move several small capital projects into procurement or construction phases, affecting local contractors and residents who use those roads and facilities. Contractors named in the minutes may begin work under county contract after standard permitting and contract finalization.
Provenance: Bid motions and contract awards are recorded in the Oct. 7, 2025 meeting minutes.
