Commission backs resolution recognizing 9-1-1 telecommunicators as first responders

Commissioner Stubblefield introduced a resolution urging recognition of emergency telecommunicators as first responders. Commissioners asked whether the designation carries any current county cost; Stubblefield said pending state legislation would increase retirement benefits if enacted but, as of the meeting, there was no county fiscal impact. The resolution passed unanimously.
