Board approves agreement for two School Resource Officers

The Howell Public Schools Board approved an agreement with the Howell Police Department to place two School Resource Officers (SROs) in district schools for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years.
The motion, moved by Mr. Bedford and supported by Ms. Conn, was approved unanimously. The district noted the agreement was reviewed by the Finance Committee on Nov. 7, 2025 and appears as Exhibit J in the official minutes.
Superintendent Dr. MacGregor also publicly thanked law enforcement for their partnership: "thanked our law enforcement officers, School Resource Officer VanBuskirk, and Chief Dunn." The board did not record dissenting votes and the agreement was entered as a standard safety and support arrangement for the upcoming school years.
