Appeals office: 385 appeals filed; 88 active cases remain
Staff reported 385 appeals filed to date, 252 receiving 30-day notices, 51 to be forwarded to the Board of Equalization, with 88 active appeals remaining; staff said 84 of the appeals included homestead filings and five included CUVA filings.

Jones County staff gave an appeals update at the Aug. 6 meeting, reporting workload and outcomes from recent processing. Staff said, "We have had 385 appeals filed with the office. 252 of those appeals, we are sending 30 day notices. 51 appeals will be forwarded to the board of equalization. Right now, we have only 88 active appeals that haven't been worked, out of the 385. Out of the 385, 84 have filed for homestead. So that's no value in dispute... and 5 have filed for CUVA."
