The Village of Shorewood board approved a conditional-use permit for Anderson's Towing to operate in an I-2 zoning district, following a 7–0 recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Commission. Planning staff described the proposal as a towing service with secure storage for impounded vehicles, office space, and indoor-only light maintenance for the company's own trucks — "it's restricted to a towing business. It's not for mechanical repairs or body work or selling scrap vehicles or parts," staff said.
Trustees asked how long impounded vehicles might remain on-site and who would perform impounds; staff and the applicant said impound durations vary and that police impounds can occasionally remain longer, but typical stays are short. The board voted to waive the second reading and approve the conditional use unanimously.
