Board approves MOUs, retirements, substitutes and limited contracts

The board approved an MOU with the Waterloo Educators Association allowing student teachers to be paid as substitutes under specified conditions; the superintendent summarized the agreement and said it aligns with recent changes in state rules allowing student teachers to serve as paid classroom substitutes in certain cases. "So this is an agreement...the state of Ohio allowed student teachers to be paid as subs or sub classroom," the presenter said while explaining the MOU.
