Students present National History Day projects; All‑State band members recognized

Academy Intermediate students presented National History Day research projects at the Jan. 28 board meeting and All‑State Band members Sven Paypa and Eli Martinez were introduced and performed. Board Recognition month video was also shown.
Early in the meeting, Academy Intermediate School students who led the Pledge of Allegiance presented their National History Day competition topics under the direction of Mrs. Jennette Clay. Presentations included the Battle of Gettysburg, Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination and a report on the M4 Sherman tank’s role in World War II.
Band director Jennifer Essary introduced All‑State Band participant and Rose Parade marcher Sven Paypa; All‑State Band members Sven Paypa and Eli Martinez were recognized and performed on bass trombone and clarinet. The Board also showed a video celebrating Board Recognition month to introduce and thank trustees.
