District administrators reported competitive and instructional highlights during the Dec. 11 Abernathy ISD Board meeting.
Glen Hill, superintendent, reported on behalf of Elementary Principal Joanna Fullingim that the elementary campus hosted the district UIL competition and earned a 3rd place overall finish and that formal teacher evaluations at the campus have been completed. "The elementary campus recently hosted the district UIL competition and earned a 3rd place overall finish," the minutes state.
Middle School Principal Ollie Hart told the board the middle school earned 2nd place overall at the district UIL competition, with the One Act Play taking 1st place. Hart also reported that 25 students qualified for All‑Region Band and that formal teacher evaluations are on track for completion in January. The minutes note a visit from ESC 17 that expressed enthusiasm for the new social studies instructional implementation.
Administrators emphasized both extracurricular success and continued work on formal evaluations and instructional implementation.
