Principals report enrollment, testing progress and added safety measures

Secondary Principal Bryan Hernandez told the board that grades 6–12 enrollment stands at 209 students, with attendance (ADA) at 97.18% for August and 95.27% for September. Hernandez said staff are analyzing 6-week exam and MAP results, that TSI testing starts this week, and that 36 students are enrolled in dual-credit courses (three travel daily to Temple College for the TBI program and are on track to earn associate degrees when they graduate).
Elementary Principal Lacey Cruddas reported Pre-K–5 enrollment of 182 and ADA of 97.88% (August) and 96% (September). She said reading and math interventions have started, teachers are recognized for instruction in the "Power Zone," interior and exterior doors are checked randomly and remain locked during instruction, and fire drills will be conducted twice a month. Two new vape detectors have been added to gym bathrooms.
