Bishop CISD board approves evaluations, contract extensions and multiple appointments

Following an executive session on personnel, student discipline, legal consultation and real property, the Bishop CISD Board approved the superintendent's summative evaluation for the 2024–2025 school year. Trustee Judy Murdoch moved to approve the evaluation and Trustee Marc Morales seconded; the motion passed 5-0.
The board also approved an extension of the superintendent's contract to the 2028–2029 school year (motion by Judy Murdoch, second by Marc Morales) and approved an extension of the assistant superintendent's contract to 2028–2029 (motion by Judy Murdoch, second by Rey Longoria); both motions carried 5-0. In addition, the board approved appointments and long-term substitute hires: Gloria Tamez; Colleen Ley; Jasmine Perez (long term sub); Kierstin Vela; Jillian Krause; Matthew Colecio (long term sub); Kelly Benavides; Bryson Williams (long term sub); and Orlando Guerra. Trustee Jeanette Gonzalez moved and Trustee Judy Murdoch seconded the appointments motion; it passed 5-0.
