Wayne County backs multimodal grant bids for three townships

On Jan. 8 the Wayne County Commissioners approved letters of support for three township applications to the Pennsylvania Multimodal Transportation Fund. The board approved support for South Canaan Township’s application for financial assistance to repair or replace the Shaffer Road Bridge; Dreher Township’s application for assistance to repair and pave Huckleberry and Gilpin Roads; and Oregon Township’s application for assistance to repair and replace the Siko Road Bridge.
Each letter was approved by unanimous motion, with commissioners saying the support would help the townships pursue state funds for local infrastructure repairs. The board did not commit county matching funds in the minutes; the action authorized only letters of support requested by the respective townships.
