The board approved the district's 1st–3rd library materials submissions to comply with Senate Bill 13 requirements, after a clarification from Dr. Rico about legal posting timelines and purchase limits.
Dr. Rico told trustees that "legally, only book orders 1st, 2nd and 3rd can be brought up for board approval as book orders 4th and 5th have not reached the 30-day posting threshold stated by Senate Bill 13." He also noted that the lists are of titles that may be purchased and that not every title on the lists will necessarily be bought because of budget limitations. The motion to approve the 1st–3rd submissions passed by recorded vote.
