Council asks for e-bike safety work session after residents raise concerns

"I've been receiving a lot of messages from residents who are concerned about ebikes, especially little kids on ebikes in the middle of and I've seen it," Little said. Multiple councilors supported a work session and recommended that the Clark County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) present enforcement guidance; one councilor suggested reviewing the city of Vancouver's rules for comparison.
Councilors discussed trade-offs including micromobility benefits for the "last 0.25 mile" of travel and helmet requirements that can reduce ridership. The council agreed a public-safety-focused work session would be appropriate and asked staff to arrange presenters, likely including CCSO.
