The Ottawa County Board of County Commissioners voted March 17 to approve a seven-year email retention contract with LockIt at $111.00 per month and a $165.00-per-hour setup fee, with setup estimated at one to two hours. Register of Deeds Shelby Walker told the commission the proposed retention period would satisfy requirements from multiple regulators and that "the budget is able to cover this cost." The motion to approve the contract was moved by Commissioner Duane Morris, seconded by Commissioner Carla Grund, and passed 3-0.
