The Common Council adopted the City of Amsterdam 2026 Comprehensive Plan update and issued a SEQR negative declaration on May 19, concluding a public process that council members and staff said dated back to an earlier review period. Dan Gray summarized the draft plan, public outreach and environmental review and recommended adoption following the public hearing.
The resolution directs the city clerk to file the adopted plan and the negative declaration with the Montgomery County Planning Department and the New York State Department of State and make the documents available on the city website and at City Hall. "We've gone through the public process, and we're ready to declare a negative declaration and pass resolutions for them," Dan Gray said during his presentation. The council voted to adopt the plan and the negative declaration; the resolution takes effect immediately upon passage.
