HFFA prohibited-practice complaint set for mediation next week, Commission told

The Department of Personnel Services informed the Civil Service Commission that mediation in a prohibited-practice complaint filed by HFFA is scheduled to begin the week after the June 3 meeting with a mediator appointed by the Hawaii Labor Relations Board.
"Mediation is scheduled to begin the following week with a mediator appointed by the Hawaii Labor Relations Board (HLRB)," Director Cynthia Razo-Porter said. She added the bargaining unit's Chief Negotiator will participate and staff hope the matter can be resolved efficiently.
Commissioners discussed the possible impacts on bargaining units and broader arbitration processes; Vice Chair Jenkins asked to be kept updated. No outcomes were reported at the meeting; staff will report developments as mediation proceeds.
