Finance Director Kristen Reed presented the second reading of the 2026 budget amendment (Ordinance 2841). She said she made small changes since the first reading, including adding an additional $35,000 to purchase two digital reader boards to be paid from the street fund and split across funds using the department's usual IT allocation percentages. Reed also noted Fund 35 (the Facilities Fund) will be brought below the city's reserve policy as a result of the amendment.
"We added an additional $35,000 for 2 digital reader boards, that'll be paid for out of the street fund," Reed said during her staff report. The committee reported full favor of the amendment, a motion to approve was made on second reading and the council adopted Ordinance 2841 by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Reed answered council questions and remained available for follow‑up clarifications.
