Commission recertifies Harvey County Transportation Title VI documents

Harvey County commissioners recertified updated Title VI public‑rights materials for Harvey County Transportation during the Oct. 28 meeting and authorized submission with the FY2026/2027 KDOT grant.
Lona Kelly, director of the Department on Aging, told the commission KDOT requires transportation providers to maintain and update Title VI public‑rights notices every three years and for the board to recertify them annually. Kelly said the 2025 update removes limited‑English‑proficiency references and corrects the physical location of the Department on Aging; no other substantive policy changes were reported.
Commissioner Terry Scott made the motion to recertify and Commissioner Becky Reimer seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The packet includes Title VI brochures in English and Spanish and a complaint procedure detailing local steps (filing with Department on Aging director, review officer process, request for reconsideration and appeal to the Advisory Council) and options to submit complaints to KDOT or the Federal Transit Administration.
