Union files grievance; district to commission third‑party payroll audit

Superintendent Susan told the board the finance department has corrected nearly all errors and that the district will engage a third‑party firm to conduct a comprehensive payroll audit over the summer to prevent recurrence.
Board members pressed for a public accounting of the audit cost and a clear remediation timeline. One trustee said the board should "shine a big giant light on that" and make audit costs and corrective actions visible to the public; staff said they are in early stages of selecting a firm.
The board and union agreed to follow collective bargaining timelines for the grievance process; staff will report back with audit contract details and a timeline for fixes.
